An impromptu middle-of-the-week post to keep you updated, get you oriented and keep you ahead of the curve.
Tomorrow is doozy. It kicks off bright and early - 6am pacific - with Laurel Portie’s Birthday celebration. If you own a business or are interested in learning how to market and advertise from one of the best in world, come hang out. Laurel is a Guardian to the core, so she is using her birthday as an excuse to give as much as possible.
Then, we roll right into The Arena at 9 am pacific. If you want to step into the Arena, be sure to enroll by the end of the day today (Wednesday the 24th). If you just want to watch the live stream, that’s okay too. Laurel’s birthday bash will be relevant to anyone looking to build their business - the Arena will be relevant to anyone that’s willing to engage the field in any area of their lives.
And that’s it. But wait, there’s more…
You may have noticed a number of new publications recommending or be recommended by the Guardian Academy;
, , and all come to mind as Guardians and TGA members leaning into publishing more - and we think it’s awesome.There is a great power in collective momentum, and we’re continuing to build out our TGA network inside of the Substack network - if you want to get integrated introduce yourself here. If you have a publication or are thinking about starting one, let the community know and they’ll be happy to help!
Speaking Of The Substack Network…
Two TGA-inspired publications have recently been renamed/rebranded to make room for more contributors to put their unique stamp on them. Guardian Fitness is now
and Guardian Marketing is now . It’s been fun watching them take on a life of their own and we can’t wait to see what’s next.Here’s why that is (probably) relevant to you. We have principle called “retro-incentives”. You can deep dive on it here - but if you want the TL;DR version it’s this:
Man Bites Dog and Commandment One both have a ton of free information and paid subscription options. Each has different contributors and a slightly different structure that we helped design and will help iterate as they grow - in the immediate future, anyway. So here’s the deal, in bullets:
If you are not interested in business development, ignore Man Bites Dog. There is no obligation to subscribe.
If you are not interested in fitness, health or looking good naked stuff, ignore Commandment One.
If you’re an Annual subscriber to TGA+ (this publication), The Arena, or a Guardian you will get free access to the paid version(s) of both publications this weekend.* *If you’re reading this weeks or months from now, sorry, this only applies to subscribers that were already subscribed.
Again, we don’t recommend claiming your free subscription (which will be sent to you this upcoming weekend) just because it’s free. If you’re not interested in it, don’t sub - it’ll just clutter your inbox.
Looking forward to celebrating our beloved Laurel with you tomorrow and hope to see you in the Arena. If you have any questions, drop ‘dem in the comments below.
