I saw Dave Montore's post in TGA facebook group, about exercising Dan John's Easy Strength program and the concept of "enough" applied to fitness.
A lightbulb went off for me.
Context: I've had weird health issues making it so if I do more than walk for 10-15 mins I feel like I'm gonna barf and pass out and have to lay on the floor for 30-45 mins. Had all sorts of tests and stuff, all we found from an echo stress test was that my blood pressure went to like 200/40. I've been an athlete my whole life and did crossfit prior to the health issues.
Okay, now that you have some context, let's continue.
I realized that I've been thinking I have to workout a lot harder than I actually did in order to get results. I still have a decent amount of muscle. I tried going to the Y, just doing bodyweight stuff at home, etc. but I had the hardest time being consistent with it.
It was the time commitment. I realized that I have a discomfort with allocating a lot of time to working out, even if most of it is just driving, and I don't enjoy the bodyweight stuff... I like barbells. It's fun.
I have a light barbell in my garage along with some light weight. So I just made a little routine, 5 movements, 2 sets of 5 very focused reps. It takes maybe 15 mins max.
I just finished day 4 in a row. I don't remember the last time I exercised (other than walking) 4 days in a row... that's a lie. It was in 2021, but that's neither here nor there.
I feel great. I actually have felt a difference in my body already, which isn't surprising since I'm basically starting from level 1 fitness wise lol.
I'll make additional updates to this as I continue. My goal is 30 days in a row.

Enough is the opposite of more. Enough enables you to make entry and exit decisions in advance and to dilegently adhere to them, despite the euphoria of the moment. That tendency to let that black hole named "more" to suck you in once again only to spit you out far away from where you planned to go
thanks Jean-Michel! as for the pdf, yes thats available for TGA+ members. This is one of our Friday paid posts - in this case because the content is so useful we made the article available to anyone and offered that useful bonus for our TGA+ members.
other articles you’ll see the paywall is sooner.
but every now and then we do something like that with bonuses
I did this, here's what happened:

Boom. Live to learn. Give to earn. Thank you for sharing - everyone benefits
I think "enough" is the key to almost every good decision I have made lately. Great work here.

Great article. BTW the link to the goals sheet needs a TGA login. Is that on purpose? (I was curious to check it out)
