“No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man.”
- Heraclitus
Future Guardian,
Have you ever read a book a second or third time and thought to yourself..
“Wow, this feels like an entirely different book?”
It’s the same book, but if it did its job and helped you grow as a human, you are not the same human. It’s far better to read a good book multiple times than it is to read multiple books once.
The Guardian Academy articles, videos and podcast are similar, but also different.
If you’re implementing, you are changing. Revisiting the most impactful stuff (whatever that is for you) again will likely be more beneficial than reading new stuff.
You’re a different human and you should have a more productive (for you) lens to interpret the same thing.
But…
It’s not always the same thing.
We practice what we preach and one of the things we preach is iteration. Nothing is ever done, it’s never perfect, it’s (hopefully) always improving. And that’s what sets TGA apart from a good book. We’re never done, we’re always improving. More specifically, we’re always re-reading our own stuff and finding ways to make it more impactful or integrate new experiences.
For that reason, we recommend that you make it a point to circle back to the stuff that has been the most impactful and go through it again, starting with the most recent version of Open Loops and Learning1
It’s been beefed up.
Don’t stop there.
Pick up the best books you’ve already read.
Bookmark the best videos you’ve watched.
You are not the same man or woman you were the last time you experienced these things - and the new you has a far greater capacity to extract meaning and value from them.
Try it.
Homework:
Open Loops and learning is one I would revisit the most because if you learn how to learn, everything else becomes more effective. Here is a link to the upgraded Open Loops and Learning Article.
What’s Coming…[It’s Up To YOU]
While we continue to iterative and improve the Guardian Academy, we would love your opinion and/or contribution. We’ve been dropping polls in the Facebook group2 to help direct the content.
For example, we’re working on beefing up the referral program and we like to send cool stuff in the mail. So we asked what readers want to get in the mail…
Looks like you’ll be seeing some T-shirt and hoodies soon.
What about the “in between time” at the forthcoming Gray Wolf Summit?
Looks like we better bring the Nintendo and make sure “Papa” has prepped his singing voice.
And the content moving forward?
Not surprisingly, given our demographic, future Guardians want to dial in their ability to generate income consistently through starting or growing their companies. Future articles will match the ratios above as closely as possible.
We’re compiling our resources accordingly.
Jump into the Facebook Group if you want to vote, make suggestions of if you feel like you can contribute to any of the above. We do our best to keep everything “in the family” (all of our direct mail rewards we buy from members of TGA to support their work.)
Live to learn. Give to earn.
