Future Guardian,
We are continuing our monthly 3-2-11 series that we picked up from Jame Clear. He sends an email every Thursday called the 3-2-1 newsletter. This is how he describes it:
Each message includes 3 short ideas from me, 2 quotes from others, and 1 question for you to ponder or something fun.
We think it’s an excellent idea.
So we are going to model it, but with twist. The Guardian Academy 3-2-1 will be monthly and the structure will be 3 from me, 2 things new and 1 thing fun.
Three me, two new, one fun.
The three from me will likely come from conversations happening in the Guardian tier, the two new is self evident - it’s new stuff - and one for fun will often be something another Guardian Academy member is doing that we find interesting, entertaining and…uh…fun.
Three From Me
1.
Motivation to learn something new ebbs and flows.
The Guardian Academy structure is designed to help you recapture motivation or find flow using the framework: Frequency —> Intensity —> Purpose.
2.
“I don’t have enough time” is not a real objection.
Things like time and money are not objections, in and of themselves. It's the tradeoff that has to be made - time and money spent in one place cannot be spent in another. The trick is to care enough to figure out what the real belief is (I will be made to feel negligent) and determine whether that belief is accurate/productive or not.
3.
"Your maximum achievability is not your maximum maintainability."
Two New
1.
Unlocking Value: A Monthly Roundup of Premium Content [October 2023] Monthly premium roundup, a look at the premium content from October.
2.
Guardian Academy Podcast: It’s not new, but we rarely talk about it. If you like to listen to content, subscribe to the podcast.
One For Fun
1.
